Kuwait's unified government services application, Sahl, has successfully processed 111 million electronic transactions serving 2.9 million users since its launch in September 2021, according to official spokesperson Yousef Kazim. The platform has completed over 32 million transactions in the current year alone, demonstrating growing public confidence in the digital services platform and the government's commitment to enhancing service efficiency.
The application has rapidly expanded from initially offering 123 government services to now providing more than 460 services across various ministries and entities, establishing itself as the country's most widely used government application. A significant achievement highlighted was the launch of the "Newborn Journey"—the first integrated digital government service pathway that streamlined multiple procedures into simple electronic steps.
Kazem acknowledged the political leadership's support and Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar's oversight as fundamental to Sahl's success. The platform is preparing to launch an upgraded version along with new services including "House Certificate" and "Marriage Certificate" issuance processes, plus the "Balag" central reporting service, further advancing Kuwait's digital transformation journey.
