NORTH KOREA HOLD MEETING ON VIRUS RESPONSE

  • 01/10/2020

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has chaired a meeting of executive committees focused on Covid-19 precautions as the country enters its ninth month of an international lockdown, according to state media. The meeting was held in the ruling Workers’ Party Central Committee building in Pyongyang.
Since January, the country has kept up very stern warnings against the virus, with limited resources available for hygiene and health care. It shut down all its normal international travel routes, which even in normal times are few, in late January this year, putting a halt to all scheduled passenger flights by its flag-carrier Air Koryo.
