THIRD DOSE VACCINE FOR PEOPLE WITH OTHER DISEASES IN TO PREVENT COVID IN SAUDI ARABIA

Riyadh: In Saudi Arabia, third dose of the vaccine is given to people with other diseases who are strongly resistant to Covid. Vaccination will begin in September. The third dose of Covid vaccine is given to patients undergoing organ transplant surgery and dialysis.


The move is to start distribution early next month. Earlier, the health ministry had recommended that a single dose be given to those recovering from covid. But the ministry reiterated that from now on, everyone, including those who are cured, should take two doses. The first dose can be taken ten days after covid confirmation.

Studies have shown that taking both doses is essential to prevent dangerous variants of Covid, such as Delta. The Public Transport Authority said it would provide free travel to and from the vaccine centers for those who were going to be vaccinated.
