NEW RECORD IN VACCINATION, 1.25 CRORE DOSE GIVEN IN INDIA YESTERDAY

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health said that 1.25 crore doses of the vaccine were given in India yesterday alone. This is the highest number since the vaccination started in the country. In August alone, 18.1 crore doses of the vaccine were given. In July, it was Rs 13.45 crore.


According to official figures, more than 65 crore doses of the vaccine have been given in the country so far. Of these, about 50 crore people were given the first dose. In August, an average of 58.46 lakh doses were given daily. For the first time, the daily average is crossing Rs 50 lakh. It was Rs 29.96 lakh in April, down from Rs 19.69 lakh in May. With the increase in vaccine production in June and July, it had increased to 39.89 lakh and 43.41 lakh respectively.

More doses were distributed in Uttar Pradesh last month. 2.46 crore doses were distributed in the state. More than one crore doses were given in August in seven other states. Maharashtra (1.43 crore); Madhya Pradesh (1.42 crore); Bihar (1.30 crore); Gujarat (1.26 crore); Rajasthan (1.19 crore); Karnataka (1.17 crore); West Bengal (1.12 crore doses).

The states that have given more than 50 lakh vaccine doses this month are Tamil Nadu (93 lakh), Kerala (87.18 lakh), Andhra Pradesh (86.46 lakh) and Odisha (56 lakh). According to figures released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning, there were 5.42 crore unused vaccine doses in the states due to the increase in supply.
