INDIA DECLARES A DAY OF NATIONAL MOURNING IN HONOUR OF QUEEN ELIZABETH ON SEPTEMBER 11

New Delhi : The government of India announced on Friday that on September 11 there will be a one-day State Mourning in honour of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. After serving as the United Kingdom's longest-reigning monarch for 70 years, the queen passed away on Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was 96.


"On September 8, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland passed away. The Indian government has decided that on September 11 there will be a day of state mourning in India as a tribute to the deceased dignitary "It was stated in a statement. 

On the day of mourning, the national flag will be flown at half mast throughout the country on all buildings where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment on the day, the statement said.
