New Delhi: After returning from abroad, two men in the southern Indian state of Karnataka tested positive for the Omicron coronavirus variant. The men, who are 66 and 46 years old, are currently being monitored, according to a government spokesperson. These are the first cases of the new Omicron variant to be reported in India. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Omicron poses a "high infection risk." Officials stated that all of the two men's primary and secondary contacts have been identified and are being tested.
