KUWAIT'S POPULATION GROWTHS DECLINES

Kuwait City: The country's population is declining, according to the Public Authority for Civil Information. It is 2.2% less than the previous year. The country has a population of 4630000 by the end of 2021. According to the latest figures released by PASS, the population is down about 0.9 percent from the end of 2020. The growth rate was 3.3 per cent in 2017, 2.7 per cent in 2018 and 2.0 per cent in 2019, but the population declined in 2021 due to the cessation of foreign arrivals following the corona. 


According to the latest figures, the indigenous population has increased. The number of natives was 31.3 per cent last year. 5 per cent to 31.8 per cent. The number of foreigners and Bedouins in the country is 69.2 per cent of the total population. The number of foreigners was -1.8% lower than the previous year. The current number of foreigners is 3150,000.The majority of foreigners leaving Kuwait are Indians. Meanwhile, there has been a significant increase in the number of expatriates in the public-private sector in the country, officials said. 

When the country gained independence in 1961, the population of Kuwait was only three lakhs. In 1975 it increased to ten lakhs and after 13 years it increased to 20 lakhs in 1988. The population was 30 million at the 2010 census. By 2021, the country's population will have grown to 46 million. Strong measures are being taken to reduce the number of foreigners in the country under the supervision of various government departments.
