BRIBERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING, BANGLADESH MP JAILED FOR 7 YEARS IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Criminal Chamber of Cassation has rejected the appeal of Bangladesh MP and others in a case related to bribery and human trafficking. In addition to the MP, two government employees and a former MP were convicted in the case. The court upheld the court's ruling, which sentenced the MP to seven years in prison and a fine of 2,71,000 dinars. The MP will be deported from Kuwait after serving his sentence.


The court sentenced Bangladesh's assistant and an Arab national to three years in prison. The former MP was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 740,000 dinars. The court upheld the appellate court's decision to sentence the Public Authority of Manpower chief to seven years in prison and a fine of 180,000 dinars. Police involved in the incident were sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 1,970,000 dinars. The court upheld the acquittal of the current minister, who sentenced a businessman to four years in prison and fined him 1,970,000 dinars.
