His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad visited Britain in 2012 and 2016, and many members of the royal family visited Kuwait on various occasions, led by Queen Elizabeth, who visited Kuwait 40 years ago, specifically in 1979.

Bilateral relations between the two countries date back to before 1899, when many British travelers and merchants visited Kuwait from the middle of the 18th century, but the Treaty of Friendship, which was actually signed in 1899, was a turning point and a true expression of the strength and depth of bilateral relations, especially in the field of defense. and security, and since that time Britain had stood side by side with Kuwait, sending a British force to protect Kuwait immediately after the signing of the intermediary.
