KUWAIT TELECOM COMPANY'S HEADQUARTERS WILL BE LOCATED IN MUNICIPALITY

Kuwait City: Kuwait Municipality has agreed to the Communications and Information Technology Commission's request to locate the Kuwait Telecom Company's headquarters in the Mirqab area, Block 1. They explained that the municipality referred its technical opinion on the request to allocate the site to the Municipal Council in preparation for its discussion and study, and for making an appropriate decision. 


The following recommendations were made by the municipality: 1. Reallocation of Site No. 1 with an area of 5698.5 square metres to the Communications and Information Technology Commission as the Kuwait Telecom Company's headquarters. 2. Allocation of site No. 3 and the adjacent yard at site No. 2 as a multistory parking structure with a total area of approximately 3,940 square metres. 3. Designation of Site No. 4 as an alternative site for Mirqab Police Station, with an area of approximately 2,000 square metres. 

The municipality requested that the following requirements be met:

■ Before installation, the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) and the Ministry of Services must be consulted.

■ Obtaining approval from the Ministry of Interior prior to installation.

■ The Kuwait Telecom Company will pay for the construction of the car parking structure.

■ Electricity will not be delivered until the parking lots are completed and handed over to the Ministry of Finance.

■Provide the necessary car parking areas within the proposed site No. 1's boundaries in accordance with Kuwait Municipality specifications. 

■ Commitment and adherence to the responses of the Public Utilities and Services Subcommittee during its meeting held on June 28, and coordination with it before                  implementation.

■ Authorizing the administration to move or modify the shape or dimensions of the sites in the event that they conflict during installation with existing infrastructure                 services or for any regulatory reasons prior to installation.
