Kuwaiti police have arrested a man accused of impersonating a Ministry of Interior officer and carrying out multiple thefts. The 33-year-old suspect was caught after an expatriate reported being stopped by a fake officer, who demanded his identification before snatching his phone and wallet. When the victim attempted to resist, he was assaulted, and the suspect fled. A special task force tracked the perpetrator using vehicle data, leading to his arrest after a brief attempt to escape. Authorities found a fake police ID in his possession, confirming his impersonation of a security officer.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime and confessed to using the stolen money for personal expenses. Further investigations linked him to three additional thefts in different areas, where he used the same impersonation tactics. Officials also discovered that he had a history of narcotics use and previous offenses involving impersonation and theft. Police have urged residents to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a law enforcement officer to prevent similar crimes.
