Bahrain’s parliament has approved a proposal to close schools during the last ten days of Ramadan, allowing students to focus on religious devotion without academic interruptions. The decision, led by MP Hassan Bukhammas, received unanimous support in a parliamentary session, urging the government to implement the extended holiday at all educational levels. Second Deputy Speaker MP Ahmed Kharata emphasized that religious faith is just as important as education, reinforcing the significance of this decision during the holy month.
Meanwhile, in the UAE, the Eid holiday will begin on Sunday, March 30, and extend until Tuesday, April 1, forming a four-day break when combined with the preceding Saturday. If Ramadan extends to 30 days, an additional holiday on March 30 will create a five-day break. In Saudi Arabia, public holidays run from March 29 to April 2, with expatriates hopeful for an extension until April 3, potentially leading to an eight-day holiday when combined with the weekend.
