Saudi Arabia has temporarily lifted restrictions on pharmacy ownership for non-residents, allowing foreigners to establish pharmacies and herbal medicine centers. According to Al-Yom newspaper, the decision comes in response to a request from the Ministry of Health and will remain in effect until the new integrated health system is introduced.
Previously, Article 3 of the regulation limited pharmacy ownership to Saudi citizens, requiring owners or partners to be licensed pharmacists. While this temporary measure eases restrictions, there has been no official statement from the Ministry of Health regarding the long-term implications of the decision.
