Dubai: The Dubai Police fleet of opulent patrol cars now includes the first electric vehicle.

At the Dubai Police Officers Club, the force received a Hongqi E-HS9 vehicle from Oneroad Automotive Company.

The E-HS9, the first SUV from Hongqi, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in five seconds. It can be fully charged from flat in about six to eight hours and has a range of about 440 km.

Mercedes, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Cadillacs are already included in the supercar fleet of the Dubai Police.

At national events like the Dubai Marathon, the UAE Tour in cycling, and other parades and celebrations, supercars painted in the white and green of the Dubai Police are frequently spotted.

Maj Gen Khalil Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief for criminal investigation affairs, said Dubai Police are always keen on promoting the safety and security of the emirate, as well as maintaining its position as one of the world's safest destinations.
