PAM INVESTIGATES 733 COMPLAINTS FROM SPONSORS, OFFICES, AND DOMESTIC WORKERS

Kuwait City: According to statistics provided by the Public Authority for Manpower's Domestic Workers Recruitment Department, the department received 733 complaints in the previous month from both domestic workers and their employers (sponsors) as well as from owners of offices and companies that recruit domestic workers.


According to statistics, the department received 580 complaints from employers about offices or businesses, 140 complaints about business owners, one complaint from a female employee against an office, and 12 complaints from offices against workers. The administration also noted that it forwarded 91 labour complaints to the judiciary, including 31 complaints about workers who fled their jobs and 15 complaints about holding travel documents. 

The administration successfully settled 369 disputes between employees and business owners. According to the statistics, the administration obtained 1 000 dinars for the benefit of the employees and 127,000 dinars from employment agencies for the benefit of employers. 40 licences were suspended for a variety of reasons, according to the sources.
