Kuwait City: Over 99 percent of all employees at Kuwait International Airport, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), are Kuwaitis. Saleh Al-Faddaghi, deputy director general for Kuwait International Airport affairs, said on Tuesday that Kuwaiti workers, including women, run all types of operations in the airport's operations, maintenance, and engineering departments. According to him, the directorate has up-to-date programmes in the areas of information technology, cyber security, and security and safety. He also noted that the airport employs many highly qualified personnel.

According to Al-Faddaghi, the demand for information technology services has significantly increased in recent years, particularly during the coronavirus crisis. He mentioned that the DGCA is nearly finished linking online information with governmental entities. According to him, one of the online services offered by the airport is the ability for customers to submit complaints by scanning a barcode and visiting the directorate's website. In the upcoming period, the DGCA will also add an online section for new employment as well as the dates of the tests and medical examinations for the position, the official noted.

Al-Faddaghi stated that the programme also tracks the calibre of services offered to travellers throughout the airport. Meanwhile, he explained that travellers who misplace their luggage at the airport can make a request and monitor the recovery procedure using specialised electronic equipment there or on the DGCA website. He also mentioned the airport's 24-hour surveillance cameras, which can be used to help recover stolen passenger belongings. According to Al-Faddaghi, luggage lost during flights—i.e., bags that were handed in at check-in—requires more extensive procedures to recover because they may be lost in Kuwait Airport or other airports.
