Al Shabath begins today: Extreme cold expected to hit Kuwait

Kuwait City,Jan 15: The Al Ajairi Scientific Center has announced that this winter will enter a new phase in mid-January and will last 26 days. During these days, snow occurs and the days are longer than the nights, the center announced in press a release.

According to the center, the phase known as 'Asirh' among Kuwaitis will last for 8 nights this winter and get colder. The center said that this phase is known as Al Asirh because the sky is blue and the body also turns blue due to cold. The center said cold northerly winds will blow and temperatures will drop during the Asirh phase from January 24.
