“Barbie” will not be released in Kuwait

After the controversy that arose about the movie "Barbie", Kuwait officially banned today the showing of the film in cinemas, which was scheduled for the 31st of this month.

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Press, Publishing and Publications Sector and Chairman of the Film Censorship Committee, Lafi Al-Subaie, announced that “The Barbie movie carries ideas to encourage unacceptable behavior and a message that distorts the prevailing values ​​of society, and therefore a decision was taken to ban the film from being shown completely".
