Israel-Palestine war: Death toll crosses 2,000

Over 1,100 Israelis and 1,200 Palestinians have been killed in intense battle following the largest attack by Hamas against Israel in decades. The only power plant in the Gaza Strip has run out of fuel, two days after Israel threatened to impose a “total blockade” on the Palestinian enclave, including a complete ban on imports of food and fuel. 

Gazans have already faced a full-scale power outage after Israel cut electricity to the strip following Hamas attacks on October 7.
