Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Ahmad Al-Awadhi, has given the green light for significant price cuts on 209 drugs and medical products in the private health sector. This move is part of the ministry’s routine evaluation of medication prices, with the goal of making essential treatments more affordable.
The ministry's press release stated that the price adjustments cover medications for diabetes, blood pressure, antibiotics, cholesterol management, and other crucial pharmaceuticals. These reductions, which have been approved by the ministry’s medicine quotation committee, aim to find a balance between patient affordability and support for the national pharmaceutical industry. The release also mentioned that some drug prices will be reduced by as much as 60 percent.
