Kuwait is facing a challenge with a significant number of residents yet to register for biometric fingerprints. As of now, around 16,000 Kuwaiti citizens and 150,000 expatriates are still unregistered, despite the Ministry of Interior's urging to complete the registration process to avoid consequences. The total number of unregistered individuals is approximately 350,000, which includes 90,000 stateless people.
The government has been working to facilitate compliance, introducing a home biometric service for elderly and ill individuals unable to visit outdoor centers. However, those who fail to register will face restrictions on government and banking transactions, including the freezing of bank accounts.
