The Numbeo Index, one of the largest databases in the world, reported that average rents in Kuwait are 46.6 percent cheaper than in the United States, and the average cost of living is also 37.7 percent cheaper than in America.

However, Kuwait ranked first as the most expensive Gulf country in terms of property prices compared to per capita income, and 30th globally in the Real Estate Price Index. This index measures several factors, including the property price-to-income ratio, rent price-to-income in the city center and outside it, mortgage to percentage of income, and the affordability of property prices.
