Ex-Interior Ministry Officer Gets 15-Year Jail Term for Robbery Attempt

A former Ministry of Interior officer has been handed a significant sentence by the Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Mutab Al-Ardi. The ex-officer was found guilty of robbery and attempted robbery of a money exchange office located in Fintas, and has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor. 


The charges against the former officer included the theft of a taxi, breaking and entering into the money exchange office, and the possession and use of a weapon against an employee during the attempted robbery. Notably, the offender's attempt was foiled due to a malfunctioning weapon, prompting him to flee the scene of the crime. The sentence reflects the severity of the offenses committed by the former officer.
