The Investigation and Research Department of the Ministry of Interior’s Residence Affairs Investigations Department arrested a gang accused of human trafficking and facilitating the obtaining of residency in exchange for money. The accused were involved in recruiting workers under the sponsorship of citizens in exchange for sums of money ranging between 500 and 1,200 dinars
- 20 companies were revealed with more than 232 workers registered on them.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that it will continue to firmly confront the phenomenon of human trafficking, especially after the activation of the new residency law, which stipulates a prison sentence of three to five years and a fine ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
