Minister of Justice: Raising the amount of blood money to 20 thousand dinars

The Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait announced today, Monday, raising the amount of blood money to 20 thousand dinars, in order to achieve the principle of preserving life and strengthening the concept of fair compensation.


Minister Al-Sumait said in a statement published on the Ministry of Justice’s official account on the social networking site “X” that “the Council of Ministers approved amending Article 251 of the Civil Code, which aims to re-estimate the value of legal blood money in a way that reflects its true reality in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia and the requirements of justice.”
