Indian All-Party Delegation to Visit Kuwait for Anti-Terrorism Outreach

A high-level All-Party Delegation from India is scheduled to visit Kuwait on May 26-27, 2025. This diplomatic initiative aims to underscore India's firm and unified stance against terrorism in all its forms. The delegation, led by the Honorable Member of Parliament Shri Baijayant Jay Panda, comprises a distinguished group of individuals, including serving Members of Parliament, a former Union Minister, and a former Foreign Secretary of India.

The delegation's members include:

  • Shri Baijayant Jay Panda: Honorable Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
  • Dr. Nishikant Dubey: Honorable Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairman of the Committee on Communications and Information Technology.
  • Smt. S Phangnon Konyak: Honorable Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and the first woman elected to the Rajya Sabha from Nagaland.
  • Smt. Rekha Sharma: Honorable Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former National Chairperson of the National Commission for Women.
  • Shri Asaduddin Owaisi: Honorable Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
  • Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu: Honorable Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of Chandigarh University.
  • Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad: Former Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, former Chief Minister, and former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
  • Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla: Former Foreign Secretary and former Ambassador to the United States, Bangladesh, and Thailand.

During their two-day visit, the Indian delegation is slated to hold discussions with senior officials of the Kuwaiti Government. They will also engage with various segments of Kuwaiti society, including prominent civil society members, influential figures, think-tanks, and media representatives. A significant part of their agenda includes interacting with a cross-section of the Indian diaspora residing in Kuwait. This visit underscores India's commitment to fostering stronger international partnerships in the global fight against terrorism.
