Saudi authorities are battling extensive wildfires that broke out in the Tanomah governorate on Wednesday.A firefighting operations centre has been set up in Tanomah to co-ordinate the teams of the firefighting effort, with teams being sent from neighbouring governorates to provide assistance.
Captain Muhammad Al Sayed, spokesman for the Civil Defence in Asir region, said the fires had not reached populated areas and there were no reports of casualties. Several teams have been positioned near residential sites in case the fires approached, he told Al-Akhbariya newspaper.
