The United Arab Emirates will restart humanitarian airdrop missions to Gaza without delay, as confirmed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In a statement issued on July 26, he stressed that the humanitarian conditions in Gaza have deteriorated to a critical level, making urgent and continuous aid efforts essential.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s long-standing humanitarian commitment, stating that the country will continue to deliver essential assistance to those most affected — whether by land, air, or sea. He emphasized that the UAE remains dedicated to relieving suffering and ensuring that aid reaches those in dire need.
This announcement follows reports suggesting that Israel will allow foreign nations to resume parachuting aid into Gaza starting Friday, as reported by Israeli army radio. Since Israel halted supplies to Gaza in March, over 100 people have reportedly died due to starvation.
Although the blockade was partially lifted in May, restrictions remain to prevent aid from reaching militant groups. Meanwhile, UNICEF provided emergency treatment to 5,000 children suffering from severe malnutrition in the first half of July.
World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described the situation in Gaza as a man-made famine, attributing it to the ongoing aid blockade.
