Kuwait's Criminal Security Affairs Sector has arrested an Afghan driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in the Al-Mutlaa area. The Jahra Governorate Investigations Department responded to a report received by Al-Qasr Police Station regarding a fatal running-over incident where the victim died at the scene and the driver fled.
Security forces conducted field and technical investigations, extracting surveillance camera footage that revealed the incident was caused by an unidentified "half-lorry" transport vehicle. Through meticulous tracking of the vehicle's movements via traffic surveillance systems, authorities identified both the vehicle and its driver.
Police located the vehicle hidden in the Al-Firdous area, far from the suspect's residence, and established an ambush that led to his arrest. The driver admitted to unintentionally causing the accident and fleeing due to fear of legal consequences. The accused remains in custody pending referral to competent authorities for legal action.
