Sharjah Police Launch 'Rased' Device to Instantly Detect and Fine Traffic Violations

  • 18/10/2025

Sharjah Police have launched a new high-tech device called "Rased" to automatically detect and penalize traffic violations in real-time. The smart radar is specifically designed to identify serious infractions that cause accidents and congestion, such as driving in the wrong direction and failing to stay in designated lanes. A key feature of the system is its ability to issue fines directly to the violator's phone the moment an offense is captured.

The device was developed in three stages by the Sharjah Police's Traffic Innovation Lab. It uses high-resolution technology to monitor roadways and target dangerous driving behaviors that disrupt traffic flow. The introduction of Rased is part of a broader effort to enhance road safety through technological innovation.

This new enforcement tool comes despite a reported 35% decrease in traffic fatalities per 100,000 people in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year. The deployment of Rased signifies the police's commitment to strengthening traffic law enforcement and further reducing risks on the road, building on the recent safety improvements.
