CHINA REPORTS 42 NEW COVID CASES:RISE THAN YESTERDAY

China saw a rise in Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, as new infections were discovered in the northwestern Xinjiang region. The country reported 42 new cases, up from 16 a day earlier, the healthy authority said. Half of the cases, 22, were locally transmitted . China is currently mass testing 4.7 million people in Kashgar following the outbreak at a garment factory, which has led to the discovery of more than 138 asymptomatic cases. 
It embarked on the programme after discovering one case among an employee during routine testing. It was the first locally transmitted case in mainland China in 10 days. The region's health authority also reported 19 asymptomatic cases, half of the country's total of symptomless infections.
