KUWAITI DIPLOMATS WAITS FOR VACCINATION

Kuwait City : The Diplomatic personnel of Kuwait working in different countries are yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the beginning of this year has been limiting the capacity of diplomatic personnel and their accompanying family in Embassies in different countries for sending vaccine doses to host countries.

The vaccination process shall be made in cooperation with the host countries with the assistance of their medical infrastructure. The Pfizer vaccine cannot be shipped due to logistical difficulties, so the only available option is the Oxford vaccine. Sources revealed that some Kuwaiti diplomats abroad succeeded in obtaining vaccination through personal relationships in some countries, indicating that others had to return to Kuwait on leave to obtain the vaccine
