FOOD DELIVERY CONTINUES ON BIKE IN EXTREME HEAT IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: The Executive Council of Labor said it was unfortunate that food delivery on bikes continued during the afternoon in extreme heat. It was banned from working in the sun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.


The labor department also observed that food delivery on bikes was a violation of this decision. The council said that the failure to provide a small air-conditioned delivery vehicle to ensure the health and safety of workers was a sign of greed and a desire to reduce costs. They have seen many cases of severe fatigue. The council called on the Manpower Authority to take responsibility and expedite the blocking of companies violating decisions.

However, sources confirmed that there was no restriction on food delivery on the bikes as it could not be inspected by the Manpower Authority or the Home Ministry.
