SECURITY OFFICERS TO PROVIDE PEPPER SPRAY AND GUN TO PREVENT ATTACK

Kuwait City: Ministry of Home Affairs to provide pepper spray and stun guns to security personnel to effectively prevent attacks by offenders. Field patrol teams will be provided with pepper spray and stun guns to crack down on illegals, drug dealers and drug users.


This eliminates the legal hassle of using a service revolver. The matter was discussed at a meeting of top officials of the Home Ministry. It was agreed that pepper spray and stun guns could be used to prevent attacks on security personnel.

In Kuwait, there have been a number of attacks on police in recent days, including the stabbing death of a police officer in the city center. The new measures are in the wake of these developments.
