Kuwait City: Local newspapers reported that issues related to direct flights from six countries, including India, will be discussed at tomorrow's cabinet meeting. Although the DGCA has issued a circular directing flights to Kuwait from India, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal, it has not been made clear.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that although the government has given permission to operate direct commercial flights from six new countries, it is still waiting for the Cabinet's approval to increase the number of passengers. At present, the airport handles about 7,500 passengers per day. The DGCA's recommendation to provide more passenger facilities is expected to be considered at tomorrow's meeting. Flights from these countries are likely to resume only after final arrangements are made to increase the number of daily passengers at the airport.
