PFIZER VACCINE FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN APPROVED BY ISRAEL

On Sunday, Israel approved the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine to children aged 5 to 11.

The Health Ministry's decision comes after US health officials approved the vaccine for the same age group earlier this month.

Israel was one of the first countries in the world to launch a large-scale vaccination campaign in its adult and adolescent populations earlier this year, and it was the first to launch a widespread booster campaign this summer.
According to experts, Israel's aggressive vaccination efforts have helped to control the spread of the coronavirus and a recent wave of the delta variant. The coronavirus, on the other hand, has continued to spread among unvaccinated populations, including children.

The ministry said in a statement that its director-general, Dr Nachman Ash, accepted a recommendation from expert advisers to immunise children with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. According to the report, the majority of advisers believed the vaccine's benefits outweighed the risks.
