NEW COVID VARIANT, UAE BANS TRAVELERS FROM SEVEN AFRICAN COUNTRIES

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has imposed a ban on travelers from seven African countries in the wake of the new Covid variant. The General Civil Aviation Authority and the National Authority for Emergency Situations, Crisis and Disasters Management have announced that passengers from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lisotho, Izvatini, Zimbabwe and Mozambique will be temporarily barred from entering the UAE.


The decision will take effect from November 29. Visitors to these seven countries for 14 days will not be able to enter the UAE. They can come to the UAE after staying in other countries for 14 days. But there are exemptions for UAE citizens, diplomats and holders of golden visas. 

They should consider the Covid negative result taken 48 hours before the trip. Must undergo rapid inspection at the airport. Officials said he would stay in the quarantine for 10 days and undergo a PCR check on the ninth day after entering the country.

However, the UAE does not currently ban flights to these African countries. UAE nationals are banned from traveling to these seven countries. Exemptions are available for official representatives and emergency medical and educational needs.
