DUTCH POLICE ARREST COVID QUARANTINE ESCAPEES

Police in the Netherlands say they have apprehended a couple who escaped from a Covid-quarantine hotel. The arrests were made on a plane at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport on Sunday, just before it took off for Spain.

According to local media, the Spanish man and Portuguese woman were later turned over to the country's health service. It comes after 13 people tested positive for the new coronavirus variant after arriving in Amsterdam on two flights from South Africa last week. 

They were among 61 people who tested positive for Covid. It's unclear if the detained couple was among those passengers.
