Philippines detects first 2 cases of Omicron coronavirus variant

MANILA,  - The Philippines' Department of Health announced on Wednesday that it has discovered two imported instances of the Omicron coronavirus strain of concern, the country's first recorded cases.


The two Omicron variant cases, found from 48 samples sequenced on Dec. 14, were now isolated in a quarantine facility, it added in a statement
