Kuwait has a shortage of maids due to country-imposed restrictions

KUWAIT CITY : According to Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director-General of the Federation of Domestic Labor Recruitment Offices, the local market is suffering from a severe shortage of domestic workers. 

Al-Ali stated that the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Manpower are currently exploring new markets to recruit domestics and have a tendency to sign memorandums of understanding with African countries, putting the figure of shortage at around 80%.
