The Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries has announced that the shrimp fishing season will end on January 1, 2022.The decision, a copy of which Al-Rai obtained, mentioned the prohibition of shrimp fishing in international waters.During the ban period, it is prohibited to catch, sell, or trade in shrimp in the local market, according to the decision.The ban includes unlicensed fishing vessels, pleasure boats, and small fishing boats, and everyone is expected to follow the rules.Daher Al-Suwayan, the head of the Fishermen's Union, stated that the fishing sector is still suffering from a labour shortage caused by the manpower system, which has resulted in the suspension of many fishing licences and a severe shortage of fishermen in this sector, explaining that the fishing sector is exempt from obtaining all permits from abroad.
