Kuwait cuts PCR test fees to KD9 for COVID-19

Dr Khalid Al Saeed, who was appointed Kuwait's health minister earlier this week, has dropped the price of the coronavirus-detecting PCR test to KD9 at private medical facilities, according to local media.

The ministry sent a circular to private hospital, medical centre, and laboratory administrators, stating that PCR testing expenses should not exceed KD9. The order goes into effect on Sunday. The most recent reduction is over 36%.

The PCR price was KD40 when it was first introduced last year, but it was reduced to KD14 in September.
