WHO WARNS THAT RISING OMICRON LEVELS MAY RESULT IN MORE HARMFUL VARIATIONS

The World Health Organization in Europe cautioned on Tuesday that an increase in Omicron cases around the world could increase the chance of a newer, more severe strain arising.


While the variety is spreading like wildfire over the world, it appears to be far less severe than previously anticipated, raising hopes that the pandemic will be vanquished and life may return to normalcy.

However, WHO senior emergencies officer Catherine Smallwood warned AFP that the rising infection rates could have the opposite impact.
