BEIJING CALLS FOR A STOP TO OMICRON DELIVERIES TO OTHER COUNTRIES

Following reports that a local woman was infected with Omicron after opening a package, Beijing city officials are advising residents to stop ordering things from overseas. They reaffirmed the hypothesis that Covid-19 may be disseminated internationally through frozen food imports, which has been questioned by several scientists. The woman who tested positive, according to officials, had no prior travel history. They also discovered malware evidence on a package she had received. The outbreak occurs less than three weeks before the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
