FRANCE TO EASE COVID-19 LIMITATIONS IN FEBRUARY

  • 20/01/2022

French Prime Minister Jean Castex announced that the government will lift certain Covid-19-related limitations in February. Castex underlined during a news conference that the Omicron variety "is clearly not merely a flu." He emphasised the need of being vaccinated once more, stating that a fully vaccinated individual is 4.5 times less likely to be infected than a non-vaccinated person, and has a 25 times lower probability of developing severe infections. Castex announced that the vaccine pass, which will replace the present health pass, will go into effect on January 24, subject to the Constitutional Council's decision. The vaccine pass allows people to enter public places without having to produce a negative Covid-19 test.
