A crush outside an Africa Cup of Nations football match in Cameroon has killed at least eight people and injured 38 more. Screaming fans were crushed at an entry gate to the Paul Biya stadium in Yaoundé, according to video. Witnesses recounted chaotic scenes outside the stadium as thousands of fans tried to gain entry. Two children, ages six and fourteen, were killed, and seven individuals were gravely injured. Officials said about 50,000 people tried to attend the match. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 but it was not meant to be more than 80% full for the game because of Covid restrictions.
