STUDY SHOWS THAT 'STEALTH OMICRON' SPREADS FASTER THAN THE ORIGINAL STRAIN

According to a Danish study published on Monday, a sub-variant of the extremely contagious Omicron coronavirus strain is significantly more infectious than the original type.
BA.2, often known as "stealth Omicron," was discovered earlier this year and has supplanted BA.1, the initial Omicron variant, as the dominant strain in Denmark. According to Denmark's SSI health authority, a person infected with BA.2 has a 39 percent chance of transferring the virus to someone else in their household within a week, compared to a 29 percent risk with BA.1. Between December 20 and January 18, 18,000 participants participated in a study conducted by SSI researchers and Danish universities.
