THE MINISTRY OF ISLAMIC AFFAIRS SAID THAT ALL MOSQUES IN QATAR WOULD OPEN DURING RAMADAN

Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs has announced that all mosques across the country will be open during Ramadan. All the events that normally take place during Ramadan will take place. The ministry said there would be seminars, religious classes, competitions organized during Ramadan and competitions organized in their language for expatriates. The events will be held with the support of Waqf and Zakat Fund. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Awqaf Ministry of Islamic Affairs. 


All prayer centers in the country will be open. Women and children will be allowed to enter the church. Renovations of mosques to mark Ramadan have been underway for the past two months. The mosque was headed by Mohammed Hamad Al Quwari, head of the mosque's department. 

The opening time of mosques during Ramadan will be announced soon. Churches will be reopened after taking strong security precautions. More facilities have been set up in mosques to observe Ramadan. Special Imams have been appointed to lead the Taraweeh prayers. Last year, 21 new churches were built in the country. This year 16 new churches have been built. Food kits will be distributed to deserving families and workers. Last year, 4,000 people became beneficiaries of food kits. This time it will be even more, said the head of the Waqf section, Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Thani.
