‘Windows Into Gaza’: Qatar Exhibition Portrays Human Stories from the War-Torn Strip

The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara in Doha has inaugurated a poignant exhibition titled ‘Windows Into Gaza,’ shedding light on the human experiences of Palestinians living under continuous aggression in the Gaza Strip. The exhibition includes 31 impactful photographs that depict daily life amid destruction, curated to raise awareness and preserve the human memory of the people enduring the ongoing conflict.

Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director General of Katara, officially opened the exhibition, which will run until June 10. The launch coincided with the release of a book by Qatari author Dr. Ahmed Abdul Malik, titled The Sufferings of Gaza… Very Short Stories. The book and the exhibition together present a compelling cultural narrative focused on solidarity with Palestine and the hope for an independent Palestinian state.

Dr. Abdul Malik emphasized that the exhibition is a cultural initiative meant to raise global awareness and document the collective suffering and strength of Gazans through visual art and literature.

The exhibit comes against the backdrop of a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have killed over 54,000 Palestinians—more than half of whom are women and children—and injured over 123,000. With much of Gaza reduced to rubble, the region faces a long and costly road to recovery, with reconstruction costs estimated at $53 billion.

The exhibition aligns with Qatar’s broader cultural and humanitarian stance, offering both an artistic and emotional window into the lives of those living through war.
