Qatar has officially introduced a new drone-based system for spraying pesticides, a collaborative initiative by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and the Ministry of Municipality. The technology was showcased at a special workshop held at the Doha North Sewage Treatment Plant, which included a live demonstration to illustrate the effective use of drones for this purpose. This modern approach is designed to enhance the precision and coverage of pesticide application in various projects.

The workshop also provided comprehensive training for participants, covering essential areas such as drone operation controls, the safe handling of pesticides, and other techniques aimed at preserving the local terrain. The focus was on implementing best practices for pesticide spraying to ensure maximum effectiveness while adhering to safety standards. This initiative highlights a significant shift from traditional methods to more technologically advanced and controlled procedures.

A key goal of this new system is to minimize environmental impact and ensure public health safety. By using drones, authorities can apply pesticides more accurately, reducing chemical drift and protecting the surrounding ecosystem. This move represents Qatar's commitment to integrating innovative technology into its public works and municipal management for a safer and more sustainable future.
